Start Date
The Office for Sustainability has launched a UVA Staff Sustainability Leadership Program- a professional development pilot program beginning in January 2026.
The UVA Staff Sustainability Leadership Program begins in January 2026 to engage UVA staff in advancing initiatives to conserve resources and reduce waste within their departments. Participants will engage in three phases - Learning, Empowering, and Leading - to build sustainability knowledge, strengthen leadership skills and implement a workplace project focused on waste reduction, supporting UVA’s 2030 sustainability goals.
The program will include bi-weekly, in-person sessions on Thursday mornings from January to April, followed by monthly project support meetings from May to July, and will conclude with a final showcase and reception in August. Applications must be submitted by November 1, 2025. As this is a pilot program, space is limited and the selection process will be competitive. A cohort of 10 to 15 participants will be chosen, and all applicants will be notified of their status by December 1. This professional development program is offered at no cost to UVA staff.
